Post Office Recruitment Exam (2014-15):

The Delhi Postal Department will be conducting the recruitment examination very soon to short list eligible candidates in Postman and Mailguard posts respectively under 740 vacant posts available in different divisions of Delhi Post Office

Scheme of Exam:

The candidates shall be judged for a 100 Marks aptitude test conducted in objective modes having questions divided into four parts as described here below.

Part A: General Knowledge -
Topics Covered: Indian History, General Politics, Geography, Economics, Current Affairs, Constitution of India, Freedom Struggle, General Science, Reasoning & Analytical Ability etc
Part B: Mathematics
Topics Covered: Number Systems, Fundamental Arithmetical Operations, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion, Computation of Whole Numbers, Profit & Loss, Partnership, Relationship between Numbers, Discount, Simple Interest, Time & Work, Use of Table & Graphs, Mensuration etc
Part C: English
Topics Covered: Tenses, Verbs, Conjunctions, Synonyms & Antonyms, Proverbs, Vocabulary, Sentence Structure, Articles, Prepositions, Phrases, Small Unseen Passage etc
Part D: Hindi
Topics Covered: Shabd Pad, Kriya Bhed, Vakya Ka Rupantran, Mishr & Sanyukta, Alankar, Ashudha Vakya Shodhan, Swar Sandhi, Samas, Muhavare & Lokoktiya, Apathit Gadyansh etc
 Each section mentioned above shall be of 25 Marks i.e. one mark each for each 25 questions attempted per section. The applicants should score the minimum qualifying marks in each section of paper to get selected. The minimum qualifying marks for each category of applicants has been decided as follows:
Unreserved Candidates: 40% i.e. 10 marks for each part
OBC Candidates: 37% i.e. 9 marks for each part and
SC/ST Candidates: 33% i.e. 8 marks for each part

Sorting Assistant         : 04 vacancies

Limitation of Age:
Applicants need to ensure that their age varies strictly within the pre set age limitations of 18 to 27 years as reckoned on 28th July, 2014. Nevertheless, there will be valid relaxation of age granted to all reserved applicants in accordance with latest norms.
Conditions of Eligibility:
Applicants looking forward to apply for the post of Postal/ Sorting Assistant need to be an Intermediate pass under the 10+2 pattern from a documented Board of secondary education, whereas, those applying for the post of Postman or MTS must have passes their Matriculation Examination and represented a country or state in any International or National competitions in the sports and games, state schools teamin the national sports/ games for schools conducted by the All India School Games Federation in the sports/ games or represented their university conducted by the inter university sports board in the sports & games.
Procedure of Selection:
Fitting and eligible aspirants will be shortlisted for these positions on the grounds of their past academic records, qualifying marks and achievements in the field of sports.

Examination Fee – Rs.400/-
